Experience:
Amy graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Food, and Exercise. She completed the Didactic Internship through the University of North Carolina Academic System and became credentialed as a registered dietitian nutritionist in 1999. She is licensed to practice in multiple states.
Amy started her career working as a clinical dietitian at Johns Hopkins Bayview and Washington Hospital Center. From there, she worked in Product Development with SHS North America, now Danone. Amy’s last corporate positions were in Sales with Apria Healthcare. Amy counseled clients during the entirety of all her experiences and opened Kindred Nutrition & Kinetics in 2010. In addition to owning Kindred Nutrition & Kinetics, Amy is currently a member of the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians. She held previous positions as Secretary of the Eating Disorder Network of Maryland and Consumer Protection Coordinator of the Maryland Nutrition and Dietetic Association.
In the last 16 years Amy has worked with thousands of individuals and families as a resource to decrease symptoms, understand nutrition, and fuel their mind and body accurately. Amy has been featured in multiple media outlets such as SHAPE, SELF, Parents, Huffington Post, Consumer Affairs, Newsweek and more. She is also a recurring guest on Fox 5 News in DC and will continue to work with additional news stations. She also works directly with local and national sports clubs and Collegiate Athletes throughout the United States. As a media specialist Amy focuses on translating complex nutrition science into clear, engaging, and actionable information for consumers proving to be a trusted voice that bridges the gap between research and real-world application. Her focus is on trending health topics, dietary myths, and practical tips for healthy living.
