Boots Pharmacy (Norway): Pharmacy Manager
Josef is a licensed pharmacist with a Master of Pharmacy from the University of Oslo and over six years of clinical experience. He manages a Boots pharmacy in Norway, where he counsels patients daily on medications, supplements, and the interactions between them, giving him a front-line view of what people actually take, and where the real risks and benefits lie.
Before moving into community pharmacy leadership, Josef worked in analytical laboratories testing the purity of pharmaceuticals using HPLC and LC-MS, including the detection of impurities, the same methods independent labs use to verify supplement quality today. He has also worked in galenic formulation, developing supplement prototypes and determining what a formula should contain, and in pharmacovigilance, monitoring the safety of both drugs and supplements. Beyond the pharmacy, he has advised municipal authorities in Iraq on medication safety precautions.
Josef's approach to reviewing supplements is shaped by his time on the testing bench: "the label is a claim, the lab is the truth." He believes most people don't need more supplements; they need the right ones, chosen for a genuine gap, verified for quality, and taken safely alongside their medications.
